So here is the best day of the year were we as a society celebrate by killing birds, and gorging ourselves on sides and dessert! I mean how great can this holiday be?
First I love to cook so this is MY day! I love the preparation of food, and I love the family bonding that comes with it.Though this year is a whole new experience.
You see this year rather than having to live through a holiday of pure chaos and drinking, me and my lil family get to really have a great day! So instead of the main event being the huge brawl between the Frog Prince and who ever decided to talk to him in between the first or the tenth shot we were able to just simply enjoy each other.
Now I entered this holiday season with fear that the children would be upset and wanting well to see the Frog Prince. But alas this was not even an issue, what is that old saying "Out of Sight, Out of Mind"??? This is what I believe has happen at least with the youngest children, they haven't seen or spoke with them there for they don't bring him up. I kept with the normal family traditions and I must say it felt great after 12 years of having to host, cook, and clean up after the Thanksgiving event all without a dishwasher! I mean how I ever survived without a dishwasher is beyond me. So this year when the cooking was going on the ability to place the dirty dishes in the dishwasher and walk away was like heaven!!!!
So this was also a holiday that has come and brought with it amazing blessings. I have freedom for me and the children, an amazing place for us to live, and having a great relationship is just the icing on the cake! I mean really how many times in our day do we stop and just be thankful for what we have? For me it is not too often but I will say this, I am grateful for my new life with my children and this is a blessing I get to see everyday when I wake up. All in all the life I had before was negative , but now it is all I have ever wanted and it is getting better and better each day. To this I must say thank you to all of you who have helped and are still helping with this journey.
